The moniker was first used in publication by Brian Braddock in Captain Britain 1 by writer Chris Claremont and artist Herb Trimpe, 1 and is currently held by Brian's twin sister, Betsy Braddock. There are so many of these series now but I am sure this character will turn up in your favourite one if you wait long enough depending on the storyline. Captain Britain is a title used by various superheroes in comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with Excalibur. Supposedly this is the Marvel debut of this artist so if you are a fan of the artist then I recommend it. That worked out about as well as you expect it would but still at least she tried. I did enjoy Betsy Braddock going directly to the universe where the threat was coming from and asking what was up. Supposedly this is a new story along the Excalibur storyline but it did not seem you need to have read that one to get what was going on as they do explain things as they go. Nic Rigby BBC News When rumours of a planned TV series featuring the cult comic book superhero Captain Britain were recently confirmed, fans of the Lycra-clad righter of wrongs were thrilled. It does jump around a bit seeing it is the first one but does settle down if you can call it that when all the Captain Britains turn up at once. If Sharon Carter can find a way to wiggle her way into the band of heroes and fight alongside the likes of Yelena Belova's Black Widow and Kate Bishop's Hawkeye, then fans might begin to see that play out in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when it drops in early 2021 (fingers crossed).Starting seemingly in the pre-historic era when Captain Britain was a T-Rex this story follows Betsy Braddock and her still trying to come to terms with being Captain Britain when people do not want a mutant to have the role. With as many changes that are being made to the Avengers' roster post- Avengers: Endgame, it's fun to speculate on how will take on what role on the updated team. If anything, though, it's encouraging to hear that Marvel Studios considered this role for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Agent 13, as this is a good indication that they intend on keeping Carter around for at least a little while longer and potentially for something bigger down the road. Many fans have expressed their disappointment in Marvel Studios' lack of use of Emily VanCamp's character in recent years. Plus, with how much Sharon looks up to Peggy, it makes sense that she would do whatever she could to honor Peggy Carter in her steps to becoming her own hero. However, with her Aunt Peggy's strong British roots, it's not the most outlandish idea to consider. It certainly is odd that Sharon Carter would even be considered to take up the mantle of Captain Britain, as Walsh points out that she's from the other side of the Atlantic. NEWSĬasey Walsh on Twitter), aka the Editor In Chief for Geeks WorldWide, shared that an early draft of the script for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier included a narrative shift for Sharon Carter, saying that she would be "becoming Captain Britain" in the MCU, "as a tribute to her late aunt," Peggy Carter. By Jeremy Dick Published If Henry Cavill gets to switch over from the DCEU to the MCU, hed like to play the live-action version of Captain Britain. Recently leaked promotional artwork for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier seems to confirm this notion, but a new report on the character's potential status gives fans a whole different perspective on just what exactly Sharon Carter has been doing for the past few years. Assuming that government officials were able to piece together that Carter was the one to help Cap and Falcon get their gear back, it's safe to assume that she's been on the run for some time now (that is, if she hasn't already been apprehended). One character in particular, Sharon Carter, hasn't been seen since she aided Captain America in his fight against the Sokovia Accords in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.
